Animals and wildlife have always captivated the imagination of Kendahl Jan Jubb, whether in the field or in her studio. Wildlife encounters have been among her most profound interactions. Coyote and fox paintings have always conveyed Kendahl's perception of intense independence, survival and nervousness. The wary, hyper-activeness of foxes fascinates Kendahl and she has great respect for the desperation of survival among canine predators. Large populations of wolves are new to western Montana and their presence in the mountains has given Kendahl a new outlet of expression. Her wolf paintings are a direct correlation between power and confidence opposite anxiety and reactivity.
